Terms and Conditions

Prices - Rooms are available from £75.00 for two people with bed and breakfast; peak and low season rates apply. Single occupancy rates are also available.

Arrival and departure – Rooms are available from 4.00pm on the day of arrival. Please note if you arrive before 4.00pm we cannot guarrantee being available to let you in. Rooms should be vacated by 11.00am.

Payment methods – Payment may be made by card or cash, which ever is more convenient. Unfortunately due to increasing bank fees, there is a £2.00 charge for payments by credit cards. There is no charge for payments by Visa debit.

Deposit – A non-refundable deposit of approximately 50% of the total cost of the booking is required to confirm the booking.  Please telephone us on 01665 711341 with your card details.

Cancellation policy - If a booking is cancelled 7 days or less before arrival the full amount of the booking will be payable, unless we are able to re-let the rooms.

Smoking – We operate a strict no-smoking policy throughout the property and anyone found smoking in any area will be asked to leave. There will be a £100 charge to cover cleaning costs and a 2-day letting free period to 'air' the room.

Noise – Please respect the comfort of other guests by avoiding slamming doors at early/late times and keeping the TV and music at a reasonable volume.

Additional occupancy - It is not permitted to have any additional guests in rooms without first booking in (legal requirement) and obtaining prior agreement from the owners. Unauthorised guests will be asked to leave immediately and an additional £30.00 charge will be made.

Pets – We are happy to accomodate up to two well-behaved dogs in some of our guest rooms, but we do not allow dogs on any furniture, including beds. Please use the towels provided to clean off muddy dogs before entering. There is no extra charge for your pet staying.

Bistro - The bistro runs on a Friday and Saturday evening and is available for both guests and non-guests. Booking in advance is essential as there is a limited number of covers. There may be a little extra noise downstairs on those evenings, although generally service is complete by 11.00pm.

Access statement -

  • Pre-arrival – Alnmouth railway station is 3 miles away from Warkworth. There is a bus stop outside the Old Post Office and local buses are available from outside Alnmouth railway station. Local taxis are also available and we can book these for you. Newcastle International airport is approximately 30 miles away.
  • Parking – Guests are able to park outside the Post office to unload cases and then there is parking opposite or in the market place which is approximately 100 metres away.
  • Entrance – The entrance is on a level access which continues through to the main guest lounge and dining room. The door width is 90 cm. The flooring is wooden.
  • Bedrooms – There are four letting rooms, two of which are situated on the first floor and and two are on the 2nd floor, both being accessed by a carpetted staircase with bannister . There are no ground floor bedrooms. The family bedroom is made up of two rooms next to each other with an en suite bathroom in Sea Holly. It is also possible to accomodate three people in Sea Holly only.There are several places in the house where the ceiling is at a lower height.

All rooms are centrally heated and carpetted. Non-allergenic bedding is available on request, otherwise bedding provided is goose feather/down.

Other access points

  • Menus are available in large print.
  • Vegetarian and special dietary requirements are accommodated.
  • The guest lounge is a 'tv-free' area and a quiet area to sit and relax/read. Guests with small children and anyone bringing pets must respect this. All bedrooms have tv/dvd, ipod deck, hair dryer, refreshments and free wifi access.
  • For those guests with mobility issues, we are happy to help with luggage and will accomodate any disability to the best of our ability.
  • A fully integrated fire safety system is in place with fire notices and emergency lighting. An annual risk assessment of the premises is carried out and a full fire inspection took place in June 2013 and all systems are certificated annually.
  • Warkworth Old Post Office has been awarded the 5 star hygiene rating following a number of inspection visits.
